PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY DOULA CLIENT AFTER the 1st JANUARY 2009 DUE TO WORK COMMITMENTS WITH the NHS and the NCT.

Once booked, my birth service includes the following points:

• I remain on call l for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week from two weeks before your expected date of delivery until your baby is born into the world.
• I offer two antenatal visits to discuss your birth plan, active birth, or anything else you’re concerned about with you and your birth partner.
• Unlimited telephone and email contact.
• I will be present throughout labour and birth from the time you decide you need me until you’re settled in comfortably with your new baby.
• I offer one postnatal visit after the birth for debriefing and ongoing support with breastfeeding or any other area you would like help with.
• You will have the full use of my birthing resources and equipments: relaxation CD, breathing tape, birthing ball, TENS machine, inflatable birthing pool, pregnancy and birth books on loan, homeopathic remedy kit, and various aromatherapy oils commonly used in pregnancy, labour, and birth.

The fee for this birth service is £500 all inclusive. However I believe that all women who want and need a doula should have access to one, and my fee can be adjusted accordingly to reflect your needs and circumstances. Please arrange an informal meeting to discuss this further.

A £200 deposit is due at booking. You will then be given a cooling-off period of seven days, should you wish to cancel your contrac then, your deposit will be refunded. However, if you request a cancellation after this time, the deposit will be retained. Another £200 will be due 2 weeks before your due date, and a final invoice will be posted to you within 7 days after the birth and will have a 2 weeks payable period.

I also offer postnatal services, it varies a lot according to your needs and circumstances:

* Emotional and physical support to ease the transition from hospital to home.
* Household chores e.g. light housework, laundry, and shopping.
* Answering the telephone, taking messages, and fielding visitors.
* Breastfeeding support and information.
* Care of the new baby or older siblings whilst you bond and/or rest.

Postnatal doula work is charged at a flat rate per hour plus mileage at 40p per mile. A weeks hourly wage deposit is due at time of contract signing. You will be given seven days to cancel this contract and the deposit will be refunded. However, should you wish to cancel after this time, the deposit will be retained. Statements will be printed weekly, and a final invoice will be posted to you within 7 days after the last day of work and will have a 2 weeks payable period.
